My name is Linda Bayles. I have been a Realtor in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area since 1998, ranking in the Top 1%. I was born in Jacksonville but grew up in a small town in Middle Tennessee, Shelbyville Walking Horse Capital of the World though that is a different story. In 2005, I walked into a 1926 Beach House on St Augustine Beach and knew I had found a new calling. To “Create” a space for Families, large extended Families, Cousins, Grandmothers, Uncles and Aunts, to come together, reconnect and enjoy each other away from the demands of the outside world.
I come from a large family of 5 children as does my husband Brad. Some of my fondest memories are when we come together to hang out for 3 or 4 days. The little ones always come up with a “Play”. The adults congregate in the Kitchen passing down the “Family Recipes” to the next generation and playing Games. We are a big Game family, board games, cards but especially Rummikub. We start them at 5 and my Mother is still winning at 95. If you have never played, you must. I make sure there is one in each house. Once you are hooked, I hope you will think of your St Augustine vacation every time you play and call me to book your next stay.
So, I bought that 1926 Craftsman at 2 1stLane, gutted it and turned it into The Chautauqua with 7 Bedrooms. It has been a rewarding success. In 2011, my Father found 4 Homes on an Oceanfront compound close by at 2 9th Street. I spent the next year remodeling them into The Seaside Cottages with 1 to 5 Bedrooms they can sleep 2 to 35.
The Best part is not only the homes but the BEACH. There are only 18 streets on the “Best Beach” between A Street and the Pier. No Cars on the Sand while you sunbath. No long Catwalks. The Ocean right at your door. Wonderful waves for Boogie Boarding and great sand for Drip Castles. Plus Walking distance to amazing Restaurants. It does not get any better than this! Then I discovered the “charm” of Downtown St Augustine. At night it is like strolling an old European City. Everyone walks. In 2016 I decide to move there and renovated 4 more Homes, ranging from 1 to 4 Bedrooms and sleeping 2 to 14 each. They are only 2 blocks apart making it perfect for Downtown Weddings with the Bride taking one house and the Groom the other. And everything is only a half mile
stroll to St George Street, the Center of Historic Downtown and all the Restaurants, Sights and Music it has to offer.
